Shipley is a very crafty router runner who uses his quick feet and explosiveness to break down defenders, gaining separation. While Shipley might not have great top end speed, he’s one of those players that has “game speed” as opposed to timed speed.
Jordan Shipley had a sixth year of eligibility granted after missing 2004 & ‘05 due to injury but rebounded in a big way, as there’s now plenty of evidence on film that this kid is going to be a big time player.
If you look at the impact that players like Wes Welker and Lance Moore have made, a guy like Shipley could fit perfectly in a role like that at the next level.
He’s a very reliable hands catcher who can pluck the ball out of the air and he’s got special teams value as well. Shipley can make things happen in the open field and will fight for the extra yards with his extra competitive streak.
